Okeechobee Prime Barbecue's roots go as far back as 75 years. The Lewis Family started cooking steaks and BBQ over lump wood charcoal flames in an open pit in 1947 with curb hop drive in service at the Okeechobee Steakhouse. Third Generation Owner Ralph Lewis has since expanded the barbecue operation to the parking lot of Okeechobee Prime Meat Market. Barbecue is all about the details; Okeechobee Prime Barbecue focuses on Texas-style barbecue, serving up freshly smoked prime meats daily.
